They all have their charm and I can see the positive side of them. But I never was a true fan of them for the simple reason that I often hear people can't maintain the diet, go back to their old habits, and gain everything back again. Clients raving about itI was introduced to the Metabolic Diet recently. It is actually not new as it has been around for a while. Usually I'm not very interested in diets but this time I kept on hearing success stories, over and over again, from REAL people, not just from books and websites. I have actually talked to people, asked them questions and they were raving about it. When I mentioned this diet to one of my customers as a possible option - who got stuck and didn't lose any more, despite my dietary advice - she immediately said she wanted to give it a try. And she wanted to start NOW! Because she had plans, was going to travel for work, so wanted to have the program finished by the time she was going to travel. I told her I was going to join her at the same time. Not because I wanted to lose weight, but because I really wanted to understand the program, and wanted to know why so many people are raving about it. And this way, whenever I come across a customer who might be interested in this diet, I can tell them, first hand, how it feels to be on this diet. Not a dietLet me set one thing straight: it is not a diet! It is a reset program. Although the Metabolic Diet is called a 'diet', it is not a 'diet' per se. Just like a computer, the cells in our body are programmed in a certain way. And sometimes, this program doesn't serve us well as our program has changed over the years. This can happen for many reasons: various diets, not eating enough, illness, stress, changes in hormone levels. This Metabolic Dietwill help you jump start and 'reset' your internal program, leading to weight loss and long lasting changes. This program was originally developed by a medical doctor in Germany, based on eating low-glycemic foods. It used to be for the 'rich and famous'. What makes the program work so well is that it jump starts your metabolism. One of the great side benefits of this program, besides losing weight, is it will greatly increase your energy levels due to the support with extremely high quality all natural supplements. This will also greatly increase your mood and therefore increases the success of this program. No hunger-suppressants, no hormones, just honest food, good quality vitamins, minerals and plant- and fruit extracts. At first, this program looked good to me on paper. I liked the idea of not having to starve, the use of healthy food and the support by high quality supplements. My current clients have reached their weight goals and are very happy about the program. Due to the enthusiasm of many clients I have decided to add this program to my services. As so many people have benefited from it, I will be able to help more people losing weight and keeping it off. The Metabolic Program in a NutshellThe program is divided in four phases:
Exclusive purchase of supplements to support, nourish and detox your body. Get support for free!Would you like to know more? If yes, please contact me so I can tell you more about it. You can either start this program on your own, or start together with a group of people. While on the program, you will be supported by Health Sense through a closed Facebook Page, e-mail support, daily updates, recipes and background information which gives you a deep understanding of the program.
I am running a Metabolic Diet Group at the moment (started in January 2017), with great success, and I am supporting them for free. I will be running one more group for free starting April 2017! Join me while it lasts by clicking here.

I tried to bake it myself but haven't been successful so far. After three times of trying I gave up. No staying power ;o) I kept on trying new brands and so far the best I have found is from Yam, which you can find in the supermarket, or I quite like Quinoa bread from Garbo which you hopefully can find in the frozen section of your supermarket.
A few months ago one of my customers was diagnosed to be gluten intolerant. I had given him information on how to live gluten free including a list of shops where to buy gluten free products. Last week he asked me if I knew our local bakery 'Met Zonder' (literally: with without), a cute way of saying 'without', without gluten and lactose in this case. Uuuhh, no... I didn't know about this bakery. I steamed off to the bakery, right after our appointment, to buy my first loaf. I asked them to cut one slice for me and I couldn't wait and ate it while riding on my bicycle. It. Was. Heaven! I felt quite embarrassed towards my customer that I hadn't known about this before. A gluten free bakery, right around the corner from where I live! I give myself a little bit credit though as they opened only in December 2016. Although they did not have a shop before, they did bake bread before, and they delivered it to a few places in Amsterdam, and still do:
You can order their bread online in De Glutenvrije Winkel, and collect it yourself. You can ring Met Zonder to reserve your bread as they tend to get sold out quickly. You can also visit Met Zonder ofcourse, and treat yourself to a nice cup of tea or coffee, with a treat. Gluten- and Lactose free, naturally! Just check them out and decide for yourself: Met Zonder Everybody deserves a good piece of bread, there you have it. Enjoy! I can't prove it but did you ever notice that certain food tastes better when other people prepare it? Just an example: your grandma's soup? Is there anything better than that? And when you try to make exactly the same, with the exact same ingredients, it doesn't taste as good? I think it's because of the one secret ingredient: love. On Sunday mornings, it is usually my husband who prepares our breakfast: scrambled eggs on toast. It's delicious! Even my seven year old knows it: it is so good because of the secret ingredient! But my husband thinks I make the best scrambled eggs, because it's 'not perfectly mixed', with white and yellow bits (it's actually because I'm too lazy to mix it well). And I can't help it, but since about six months ago I always have to think about Gordon Ramsay when I eat scrambled eggs. This is very annoying as I haven't been able to get rid of the thought. Because he had thousands and thousands of views on a video in which he prepares 'the best scrambled eggs, ever'. And many people now believe Gordon's recipe is the best, I guess. You know, I can't imagine scrambled eggs can taste as good with so much swearing and negative vibes going on. Again, I can't prove it and I can't put my finger on it but I believe food absorbs not only water, sunlight, nutrients (when it was still alive) and when its being prepared it absorbs other stuff, well, love for instance.
I'm drifting off.... So what I just want to tell you is that food made with love, it's the best thing in life! Happy Valentine's xxx Would you be interested in a talk on healthy food and healthy lifestyle? My talks are interactive. I'm not pretending to be THE expert, I love a 2-way interaction as I don't want to be the only one speaking. Main subjects are: healthy food, energy, orthomolecular advice, detoxing, holistic health, burning questions! You might get a mini laser coaching session and some useful insights. Both Dutch and English are possible. Healthy Greetings! Barbara
