They all have their charm and I can see the positive side of them. But I never was a true fan of them for the simple reason that I often hear people can't maintain the diet, go back to their old habits, and gain everything back again.
Clients raving about it
I was introduced to the Metabolic Diet recently. It is actually not new as it has been around for a while. Usually I'm not very interested in diets but this time I kept on hearing success stories, over and over again, from REAL people, not just from books and websites. I have actually talked to people, asked them questions and they were raving about it. When I mentioned this diet to one of my customers as a possible option - who got stuck and didn't lose any more, despite my dietary advice - she immediately said she wanted to give it a try. And she wanted to start NOW! Because she had plans, was going to travel for work, so wanted to have the program finished by the time she was going to travel. I told her I was going to join her at the same time. Not because I wanted to lose weight, but because I really wanted to understand the program, and wanted to know why so many people are raving about it. And this way, whenever I come across a customer who might be interested in this diet, I can tell them, first hand, how it feels to be on this diet.
Not a diet
Let me set one thing straight: it is not a diet! It is a reset program. Although the Metabolic Diet is called a 'diet', it is not a 'diet' per se. Just like a computer, the cells in our body are programmed in a certain way. And sometimes, this program doesn't serve us well as our program has changed over the years.
