Today is Peanutbutter Day, I just found out. Well, I love peanut butter so it's time for a mini ode to peanutbutter. To me, it fits into a healthy lifestyle. Why? Peanut butter is so versatile, you can create snacks with them, add them to smoothies, porridge, sauces or simply on a sandwich. My absolute favorite late night evening snacks are slices of apple, topped with peanut butter, with a bit of cinnamon. Gross? How about pear with peanut butter? So rather than grabbing a bag of crisps (like my customer used to do), attack the ice cream tub or whatever you fancy at the time, try peanut butter and fruit for a change. The combination of fibres and protein will make you feel satiated for a while, resulting in a guilt free, good night sleep.
I shop for 'palm oil free' products nowadays , for a very important reason, which I will write about later. It seems really difficult to find palmoil free products! But once you know your brands it's easy peanutsy again. And guess what, in Amsterdam we have the Peanutbutter Shop (Pindakaaswinkel) and all of their peanutbutters are free from palm oil, and gluten free. I live really closeby and never went there, will do so soon!
